BoldSprints this Coming Sunday December 21st

7pm, Middlesex, until we have annointed a champion.  Zach from Open promises to be on hand to defend his new title.
If you missed the last BoldSprints/Open Bicycle event, you probably heard how much of a mistake you made.  Don't miss this one.  Install a big gear and pack up your aunt from DeMoine and show her a good time.
RMM will not only be MCing, he is forcing his little sister to race while being heckled by the cruelest older brother in Cambridge.
Cambridge Bicycle will be providing prizes.  There is even a rumor afoot that CB owner Kip Chinian will be racing!
Good times shall be had; see you there.

Boldsprints at Middlesex--Photos

Open Bicycle knows how to put on a party. DJ Frank White and DJ Brek.one spun, Middlesex made delicious drinks and extended incredible hospitality.
OB organized an alley cat race that was more like a fun ride, which had 76 riders!!
Boldsprints and Open Bicycle packed Middlesex with enthusiastic crowds of cyclists who raced hard for prizes from Red Helmets from Burton (http://www.redprotection.com/Default.aspx), Knog (http://www.knog.com.au/), BailyWorks (http://www.baileyworks.com/).

Marty from Geekhouse made the coolest, heaviest trophy that I have ever seen for the winner of the Royal Flush “race.”
There were tee shirt tosses during downtime, ala 1980s skate contests.
Overall, a good time. If you weren’t there, you should get your priorities straight!

RMM to Host BoldSprints at Middlesex Sunday 12/7/08

Apparently, I have been doing an adequate job at MCing BoldSprints as I have been invited to MC this huge event at Middlesex this coming Sunday.   I am more than a little intimidated, as there will be moderately famous DJ's, serious sponsors and lots of movers and shakers in the cycling community.  Honestly, I was sceptical at first, but I now excited about it.
I plan on racing in the alley cat as well, provided that my cold has subsided.  This will be my first alley cat and I expect to get beaten by cute little girls.
Fortunately, the overall standings will be determined by the poker hand the cards that you collected at the checkpoints make up.  Even if you are last through the checkpoint, you get a card.  And even an idiot knows 4 dueces beats 3 aces.
There will be door prizes and there are substantiated rumors of free beer for all competitors, so bring a bike MF'er!
There are also less substiated internet rumors of 100 Boloco burritos at the end the night (can the internet confirm or deny?)  So go ahead and race til you puke.
If you are one of the readers of this blog, both of you should cancel your Sunday night television watching and come to the event.
